SowNorth has no account, no server of its own and no ads. The town you pick, your frost dates, crops, varieties, tasks, journal notes, seed packets and photos are stored only in a database on your phone.
SowNorth does not use your location. You choose your town from a list built into the app, and frost dates come from Environment and Climate Change Canada Climate Normals 1991 to 2020 bundled in the app, so no lookup is made over the internet. Task reminders are local notifications. Photos are copied into the app's private storage only when you add one. Backups and printable plans are created on your phone and only go where you choose to share them. Uninstalling the app deletes its data from your phone.
SowNorth contains no analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising SDK and no advertising ID. Nothing you enter leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share it. If this ever changes, this page will be updated before the change ships.
SowNorth Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play. We receive no payment details; Google Play tells the app only whether Pro was bought.
SowNorth is not directed to children under 13.
