Privacy Policy — Landlorder: Rental Manager
1. Overview
Landlorder is a calm, local-first rental property record-keeping utility built for Canadian small landlords. All portfolio records, tenant contact details, rent ledgers, expenses, inspections, and receipt attachments you enter into Landlorder are stored 100% locally on your device inside your phone's private SQLite database and app-private file storage.
2. Information Stored & Processed
- Landlord Workspace Profile (Optional): Your name, email address, and optional 4–6 digit device PIN stored locally on your phone to label exported reports and lock your workspace.
- Portfolio & Tenancy Records: Property nicknames, addresses, provinces/territories, unit labels, occupant names and contact details, monthly C$ rent schedules, ledger payments, expense logs, maintenance work items, room inspections, and reminders — stored exclusively on your device.
- Local Attachments (Receipts, Photos & Leases): Photos of hardware store receipts, repair issues, or room condition checks captured with your camera or selected from your gallery, plus PDF lease files you attach from your device.
New Era Intelligence Inc. does not operate a cloud database that collects, receives, or accesses your landlord portfolio, tenant information, or financial records. No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs are included.
3. Android Permissions & Why We Request Them
- Camera & Photo Library (expo-image-picker): Used only when you choose to photograph or attach a receipt, repair photo, or inspection photo. Images stay on your device unless you explicitly export and share them.
- Document Picker (expo-document-picker): Used only when you select a lease PDF or document file from your phone to attach to a unit or tenancy.
- Notifications (expo-notifications): Used solely to schedule local on-device reminders (such as rent due dates, lease expiries, or insurance renewals). No remote push servers or marketing notifications are used.
- Google Play Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): Used by Google Play (and RevenueCat, when enabled for entitlement verification) to process and restore optional Landlorder Pro upgrades. Payment card details are handled entirely by Google Play and are never seen by Landlorder.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
Landlorder allows you to generate CRA Form T776-aligned CSV spreadsheets and tenancy PDF summaries on your device. When you tap Share, Android opens the system share sheet (expo-sharing) so you can send the file to your own email or cloud drive. Data only leaves your phone when you explicitly share an export.
5. Data Retention & Deletion Controls
Because all data lives on your device, you can permanently delete your entire database and all attached files at any time via Settings → Reset / Wipe Workspace inside the app, or by uninstalling Landlorder from your device.
6. Record-Keeping Disclaimer
Landlorder is a personal record-keeping notebook. Recording a rent charge or payment updates your local ledger and does not move money or process bank transfers. Landlorder does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice.
7. Children's Privacy
Landlorder: Rental Manager is designed for adults and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be published at this URL with an updated Effective Date.
